Vedic Art

Vedic Art is a way to find your drive behind your creational processes.

Vedic Art is founded on the old Vedic tradition that dates back many thousand years. The legacy from this time consists of scripture and the knowledge left behind in so many areas of life: art, health, ethics, philosophy, politics and cocking. In other words, there are many limbs of the tree that together holds this vast pool of knowledge. Simply, the term Vedic Art can best be translated into the “knowledge about the creational process” free of religious pretext.

If we consider our lives from the view point that what happens is tied to what we do, the it become obvious that the creational process affect our whole existence. We see that our lives are influenced even when we paint a picture or make a figure straight out of the clay. The creational process then become the glue that keeps our lives together.

Vedic Art Does not Discriminate

Vedic Art can be practiced by everybody, regardless if you already are an artist or if you never, ever have had a paint brush in your hand. No prior knowledge is required. No right or wrong exists here. The essence of Vedic Art brings freedom to create, without hierarchies, and a demand to be respected on equal terms. In other words, Vedic Art is not an education that makes you an artist, but rather an activity that brings you closer to yourself, to your innate creative spirit.

With the help of Vedic Art’s principles’ we can gain more consciousness about how we create the painting that is currently underway. But not just that. We also gain the greater consciousness about how we can create the life we wish to lead.

All our actions make the foundation in how our lives turns out. By awakening the memories about how to consciously create we can change that we don’t wish and empower that which brings us joy.

Make one stroke of the brush. And one more. And you are doing it!

Yes! It is that simple.

Curt Källman, the Founder of Vedic Art

The Vedic Art School was founded back in 1988 by the Swedish artist Curt Källman (1938-2010) at the castle of Bosjö Abbey where he resided until his death. During over 30 years he developed and refined the art form to what it is today.

Vedic Art rests on a number of principles that contain the goundational aspects of it. The names of the principles originate from an unknown oral tradition within the Vedic tradition found in India. Already back in 1974 Curt heard about the principles for the first time and have since used them as a great source of inspiration when he developed the method Vedic Art.

The principles themselves are ancient, howerer the method Vedic Art was created only 25 years ago. What makes Vedic Art so precious is the combination of the founding principles, the methods practical applications and its overall unique approach of how to awaken your creative spirit.
